… and I decide to go for the kill. Slowly and steadily, I move upto my unsuspecting victim, positioning my hand just behind its back. A whoosh and a thump…., and my victim lay perfectly still, in a pool of blood, devoid of any vital signs. My conscience deplores me… my religion haunts me. To kill is a sin, they all seem to be unanimous about it. And to kill in such a cold blooded manner is worse still. But is murder for self defense a sin??? The blood that has been spilt was my blood, sucked mercilessly by the now lifeless and bloody mosquito until it was too full to even fly. To exercise my right to a good night’s sleep, the mosquito had to be killed. And I have to take countless such lives mercilessly every night just to enjoy some sleep, to be able to dream about tomorrow’s dreams. I am reminded of Nana Patekar’s immortal lines: “Saala ek macchaar aadmi ko hijra bana deta hai….”. Nothing can be farther from this truth

Spoken like a true Hyderabadi indeed!!Tormented by the rodents of the night, who have slowly but surely begun making there presence felt during the day as well, having one’s own blood on his hands seemed inevitable-but no more my friend,no more! This rampant bloodshed that tugs at your conscience day in and day out is a thing of the past for the technologically savvy Mosquito predator.
A handy racquet which can be charged for six hours in the day and used by the night has come to our rescue. Plus,it’s available at the nearest betel shop, wrapped in an all bright polythene.
So what if the Hyderabad Municipality never cared to have the mandatory mosquito repellant solution sprayed around our locality;armed with this piece of weaponry we are well served to burn these mosquitoes, full or otherwise,as they fly or rub their tentacles in mouth watering delight with a bag of blood in sight-and our vengeance will fall on them in a fashion that would be as clean as the racquet itself. No more blood,no more skeeters!
Statutory Warning: Don’t hit someone(yourself especially) with a fully charged racquet.
